Location: Quiet, Authentic, and Ideal for Unwinding
One of the resort’s biggest strengths is its quiet and authentic location. Removed from Bali’s busy tourist centers, the atmosphere here is calm and unhurried. There is no traffic noise, no party scene—just the ocean, tropical gardens, and views toward Mountains and the sea.
This peaceful setting makes it easy to truly relax, whether you are diving every day or simply enjoying the surroundings between dives.
The Resort: Boutique-Style Comfort with a Personal Touch
Bali Villa Dive Resort is a small, boutique-style resort, and that is part of its charm. Everything feels personal and thoughtfully designed, from the layout of the villas to the attentive service.
The resort offers several room and villa categories, catering to different needs while maintaining a consistently high level of comfort. I stayed in a Garden Villa with sea view, which was absolutely beautiful. The villa was spacious, surrounded by lush greenery, and featured a stunning open-air bathroom—a perfect tropical detail that made the stay feel special and immersive.
Despite the privacy of the villas, everything is conveniently close: the restaurant, dive center, pool, and spa are all just a short walk away.
Food & Dining: Half Board with Excellent À La Carte Options
Stays at Bali Villa Dive Resort are offered on a half-board basis, which includes breakfast and dinner. This works extremely well, especially for divers, as you don’t have to worry about planning meals after long dive days.
For lunch, guests can order à la carte, and this flexibility is a big advantage. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, both local and international, and the prices are genuinely fair, especially considering the quality and freshness of the food.
The food itself was fantastic throughout our stay. Even after two weeks, meals never felt repetitive. Dining became something we genuinely looked forward to every day, and the relaxed restaurant atmosphere made it easy to linger in the evenings.
In addition, the resort offers Balinese cooking classes, which are a wonderful way to connect with local culture and learn more about traditional cuisine.
The Dive Center: Professional, Well Managed, and Relaxed
The on-site dive center is extremely well organized and professionally run. Everything feels smooth and efficient, without being rushed or impersonal.
The resort operates two dive boats, which allows for small groups and flexible scheduling. This makes a big difference, especially when it comes to comfort and safety. The dive guides are highly experienced, know the local dive sites incredibly well, and have an excellent eye for marine life—particularly macro and super macro subjects.
Diving Options: Variety Without Changing Accommodation
One of the standout features of Bali Villa Dive Resort is the range of diving options available.
House Reef Diving
The resort offers guided or unguided house reef diving, which is a huge bonus. You can dive at your own pace, practice photography, or simply enjoy relaxed dives without time pressure.
Dive Boats
The dive center operates two boats dedicated to exploring the nearby reefs just off the resort. While each boat can accommodate up to 12 divers, during my stay the groups were always very small, with a maximum of four guests per trip — perfect for a personalized and relaxed diving experience.
Day Trips by Minibus
For iconic dive sites, the resort organizes diving excursions by minibus, including trips to:
- USAT Liberty Wreck in Tulamben
- Nusa Penida – Manta Point
These trips are well organized and make it easy to experience Bali’s most famous dive sites while still returning to the quiet comfort of the resort afterward.
A Highlight Not to Miss: Black Water Diving
One of the absolute highlights of my stay was the black water dive. Drifting in open water at night, surrounded by bioluminescent creatures and deep-sea life, was an unforgettable experience.
The dive was conducted in a very professional and safe manner, and the encounters were unlike anything you see on regular reef dives. For underwater photographers and curious divers, this alone is worth the trip.
Macro and Super Macro Paradise
The area is a true macro and super macro paradise. Over the course of two weeks, I encountered an incredible variety of small and rare marine life. The guides’ ability to spot tiny critters is remarkable, and even repeated dives never felt repetitive.
Spa & Relaxation: The Perfect Complement to Diving
The spa deserves special mention. After diving, it was the perfect place to unwind. During my two-week stay, I visited the spa three times, which says everything about the quality of the treatments.
The spa adds an important layer of relaxation and balance to the diving experience.
Beyond Diving: Exploring Bali
On non-diving days, the resort also organizes island excursions, offering the chance to explore Bali’s culture, landscapes, and temples while still returning to the peaceful base of the resort.
Seamless Arrival: Airport Transfers Included
Another detail that made the stay especially smooth was that the resort organized our airport transfers, both on arrival and departure. This removed any stress from traveling across the island and allowed us to start and end the trip in a relaxed way.
From Five Days to Two Weeks: A Place That Makes You Stay
We originally planned to stay for just five days, but the calm atmosphere, excellent diving, amazing food, and warm hospitality made us want to stay longer almost immediately. We were incredibly lucky that extending our stay was possible—and five days quickly turned into two unforgettable weeks.
